 It would be very important to underline that, first and foremost, Jesus is not presented, in the gospels, as a naive man of prayer. He himself, he knew all the dangers which are subject to prayer, and in fact, he condemns many types of prayer. It would be of the same important to make our own reflection, parallel to the condemnations which Jesus makes about some types of prayer and evaluate our own prayers which we present on our day to day lives. |

 In the tradition of the Catholic church, October is both the Mission month and the month of the holy rosary. This is the month when we celebrate “ The World Mission Sunday” This year it falls on the Sunday of 18th October. Many dioceses as well as missionary congregations give the whole month of October a “mission” focus and attention. A question may arise “ why emphasize too much the need of being a missionary church?” In fact, the Holy father John Paul II, in his encyclical letter “Redemptoris Missio” puts the same question “why mission” and stresses in his answer that “ the church, and each individual Christian within her, may not keep hidden or monopolize this newness and richness which has been received from God's bounty in order to be communicated to all mankind RM n.11”. |

 A burgeoning humanitarian crisis among the tens of thousands of people expelled by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to neighbouring Angola is beginning to unfold. "The fears of a humanitarian emergency and the needs of the people have been confirmed," said the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) representative, Bohdan Nahajlo, after an assessment visit to the affected region in northern Angola. |

 A recent discussion of young people about missions saw them analyzing the term from all sorts of perspectives. It was interesting to hear them talk of mission in terms of goal, objectives or aims linked to a given appointment or assignment. One could not detach mission from an inspiring vision out of which people hit the road in different fields of life. It was easy to identify military mission as the undertaking in which a commander leads his army not only to win a battle but also to defend his territory or to expand it. After analyzing the word from various applications in the society, the question of missionary activity in the church definitely arose. |
