An Intercongregational Committee for the Congo Emergency

An Intercongregational Committee for the Congo Emergency (CIEG), was set up on 12 November, in the course of a meeting of representatives of Missionary Congregations present in the region of North Kivu and the surrounding areas.

The meeting at the Headquarters of the International Union of Female Superiors General (UISG) and of the Union of Superiors General (USG), was attended by about a hundred religious, representatives also of organisations and NGO present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and was chaired by Fr Rino Benzoni, Superior General of the Xaverians.

The Religious of Rome in Communion with the Synod on the "WORD"

The Word of God is creative, prophetic and liberating. It is a force that shapes and energizes Christian and Religious life, as the sap gives life to the branches. Aware of the life giving presence of the Spirit in the reflections at the Synod, we religious wish to join in solidarity with our brothers and sisters who will participate in the Synod, reflecting and opening our minds and hearts to the Spirit’s action.
