CLOSURE OF COMMUNITY

In a meeting on November 19, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute took note of a proposal of the Argentina Regional Council and with the favorable opinion of his Council, decided to close the local IMC community of Nuestra Señora de Itatí in Machagay.

NEW COMMUNITIES

In the meeting of August 26, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute with the favorable opinion of his Council, confirmed the decision of the Colombia Region to open a new community at Cali in the Archdiocese of Cali.

In the meeting of November 29, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute with the favorable opinion of his Council, confirmed the decision of the Argentin Region to open the new community of San José in the city of Orán, Province of Salta, Diocese of San Ramón de la Nueva Orán.

In the meeting of November 21, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute with the favorable opinion of his Council, confirmed the decision of the Italian Region to open a new community of the Institute in the parish of Platì, Diocese of Locri.

RESIGNATION FROM OFFICE

In the meeting of October 29, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute considered the request made by Father Claudio Brualdi to renounce his office as Regional Superior of the Colombia Region because of the grave state of his health. After close examination and with the collegial vote of his Council in conformity with Canon 189, paragraph 3, the Superior General accepted his request to renounce his office. At the same time in conformity with article 137 of our Constitutions he asked the Regional Vice-Superior to assume direction of the Region until a new Regional Direction could be constituted.

CONSTRUCTION OF A HOUSE
In the meeting of November 2, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute listened to the General Administrator’s opinion and with the favorable vote of his Council, approved the final plan for rebuilding the Regional House in Caracas (Venezuela) and authorized the expenditure (Cf. Prot. n. 300/01).
THE ALPIGNANO PROJECT

In the meeting of November 2, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute examined the proposal of the Mayor of Alpignano (Prot. 27365) to acquire the following part of our properties: Casa Beato G. Allamano, the adjoining “Castello” and gatehouse along with its adjacent rooms. With the endorsement of the Italian Regional Council and the consent of his council, the Superior General accepted the proposal and authorized the initiation of the relative negotiations with the city Mayor. Selling these buildings will permit the Institute to transfer the Casa dei Confratelli Anziani e dei Benefattori to new quarters to be built on the land facing our property.

PURCHASE OF PROPERTY

In the meeting of November 13, 2001, the Superior General of the Consolata Missionary Institute listened to the General Administrator’s opinion and with the favorable vote of his Council, authorized the Roraima Regional Council to buy property with land and a house for the residence of the community responsible for urban pastoral work in Boa Vista.

DISPENSATIONS
The Superior General has dispensed the following students from temporary vows:
- Arnaldo Riheia Jorge, Theological Seminary of Rome (August 26, 2001) - Ndwiga Wathiru Boniface, Theological Seminary of Nairobi (October 11, 2001).
EXCLAUSTRATIONS
On August 26, 2001, the Superior General granted Father Francisco Antonio Pinilla Cepeda an indult of exclaustration for three years without the exercise of priestly ministry (Prot. 282/01).
On November 21, 2001, the Superior General granted Father Valerio Paitoni an indult of exclaustration for three years so that he could exercise his priestly ministry under the jurisdiction of the Archbishop of São Paulo (Prot. 352/01). DISMISSAL On November 9, 2001, with the collegial vote of his Council and in conformity to Canon 694 of the Code of Canon Law the Superior General declared Father Maurilio Bianchi ipso jure dismissed from the Consolata Missionary Institute (Prot. 334/01). |
