INSTITUTION OF THE IVORY COAST DELEGATION

Prot. n. 44/01

The General Council of the Consolata Missionary Institute, after consulting the missionaries involved, with a collegial vote in the meeting of March 6, 2001, has decided to establish the Ivory Coast Delegation.

According to Constitution n. 126, these are the directives for the establishment and operation of the new Jurisdiction:

1. The New Jurisdiction will be called the IVORY COAST DELEGATION; its official abbreviation is: DCA.

2. The Delegation is placed under the protection of Blessed Joseph Allamano and bears as its date of erection February 16, 2001.

3. Once confidential nominations are made for a Delegate Superior and two Councilors (one of whom will be Vice-superior), the General Council will appoint the Delegation Council.

4. In addition to those powers found in article 144 of the Constitutions, the Delegate Superior is equivalent to Regional Superiors in all that pertains to Admissions and receiving Professions. Consequently he has their same power to confer the Ministries (cf. Canon 1035 and Constitutions, nn. 103 and 143).

5. The Delegation will begin operation with a Profession of Faith made by the Delegate Superior and Vice-superior and an oath by the Second Councilor.
