Presided by Rt. Rev. Bishop Salesius Mugambi and with the presence of 18 concelebrating priests, a Requiem Mass was celebrated in Meru cathedral for the eternal rest of Brother Dino Bottaro, a Consolata Missionary who died on September 6, 2008 in Italy, aged 80.
Brother Dino, an electrician, plumber and mechanic by profession spent 50 years of his missionary life in Kenya, mostly in the Dioceses of Meru, where he helped build the Cathedral, and in Embu and Marsabit, where he followed construction works and development projects. He is remembered as a humble, joyful and dedicated worker in the Lord’s vineyard who knew how to harmonize manual work with an intense prayer life.
Bishop Mugambi in his homily mentioned the selfless and expert work performed by Brother Dino and paid tribute to the Consolata Fathers, Brothers, and Sisters who since 1911 are present and active in his Diocese. |
